Is ShapeForge free?

Yes, ShapeForge is completely free. There are no ads, no in-app purchases and no subscription, and you don't need an account.

How do I play ShapeForge?

Drag pieces from the tray onto the board. A piece snaps into place when it fits. Use all the pieces to cover every open cell — any solution wins, not just one. To move a placed piece, drag it again, or tap it and then tap a cell. Double-tap a placed piece to send it back to the tray. There are no lives and no game over, so take your time.

Each of the 20 worlds adds one new idea, and the first time you meet it a short card shows you how it works. You can replay the basics any time from Settings › Replay how to play.

How do stars work?

Each level has three stars:

The timer starts on your first move and pauses when you pause or leave the app. Stars open new worlds. On a Boss level (level 50 of each world) the third star is ★ Pure: finish within par moves without using anything from your stash.

What do the power-ups do?

Cancelling a power-up is free; confirming spends one charge and one move. When a level needs a power-up, it supplies the charges (or lets you earn them on the board), so you never need your own stash to finish. Tap the ? beside Pause to see what a level needs, and tap any special cell to see what it does.

What do I do if I'm stuck on a level?

Tap Hint to see where one piece goes. If you've placed something that can't lead to a solution, Hint tells you what to undo instead, for free. For any rule or power-up, open the Guide (How to Play in Settings, or from the pause menu): it explains each one with a short animation. Every level was proven solvable before it shipped.

Where do coins come from?

From playing: first clears, new stars, the ★★★ bonus, reward tiles, star milestones, the Daily puzzle and events. Spend them in the Shop on power-ups and app themes. Coins can't be bought — there are no in-app purchases in ShapeForge.

Does my progress carry over to a new iPhone or iPad?

Not in version 1.0. Progress, coins and settings are saved only on the device you play on, and they aren't synced between devices. A backup and restore of the whole device may bring them along, as it does for any app's data. Deleting the app deletes your progress.

How do I start over?

Open Settings and tap Reset progress. It erases your stars, coins and power-ups, and keeps your settings. It can't be undone.

How do seasonal events work?

During an event — Halloween, Winter, New Year and others — a track of themed puzzles appears on Home. Clear puzzles for coins and stickers, and clear the last one to keep that event's app theme for good. Events come back every year, so a missed theme can be earned next season.

What sound, color and accessibility options are there?

In Settings you can turn sound effects, music and haptics on or off, pick one of six music styles, choose light, dark or system appearance, switch app theme, and turn on color-blind patterns, which add a unique pattern to every piece color. ShapeForge supports VoiceOver, and it calms its motion when Reduce Motion is on. The silent switch mutes all sound.

Does ShapeForge collect any data?

No, ShapeForge collects no data. It has no analytics, no ads, no account and no in-app purchases, and it works fully offline. See the Privacy Policy.
